SYDNEY FOOTBALL STADIUM
Allianz Stadium, located in Sydney’s Moore Park, hosted its first event on 2 September 2022. Built on the site of the former Sydney Football Stadium, demolished in 2019, the project continues the legacy of the Sydney Sports Ground (1899) and the original stadium, opened as a Bicentennial project in 1988.
The new 42,500 seat stadium features three tiers of seating along the sidelines and two tiers at each end, with a steep rake that brings every seat close to the action, ensuring an immersive experience throughout.
A defining feature of the stadium is its striking roof, which illuminates in the colours of the home team. Extending beyond the front row, the roof provides coverage to all seating areas, while its continuous wraparound form helps contain both light and crowd noise within the stadium, minimising spill into the surrounding precinct.
Pulvin’s experienced team played a key role in delivering the lighting outcomes for this state of the art venue. Through careful coordination of the lighting program, design requirements, and luminaire delivery, the team ensured the final result meets the high performance expectations of a world class stadium.
